Sicilian Pepperoni Pizza

The key to this delicious, family pizza night recipe is fresh pizza dough. We get ours from a local pizzeria. Letting the dough proof for 30 minutes or so results in an airy, crispy crust once cooked. While you wait, prepare your favorite toppings!  For this rendition, we kept it simple with Classic Spicy and pepperoni.

  • Olive oil and cornmeal
  • 1 fresh pizza dough
  • 1 jar Jar Goods Classic Spicy
  • 8 oz shredded or fresh mozzarella
  • 16 - 20 slices pepperoni

Optional toppings ideas!

  • 1 link crumbled sausage, precooked
  • 6 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into thin slices
  • ½ lbs mixed mushroom, thinly sliced

Drizzle olive oil across an 11” x 8” cookie sheet and then sprinkle cornmeal on top.Form the pizza dough to the sheet pan so that it is completely covered. Let rest for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

After 30 minutes, spoon the Classic Spicy tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough. Make sure you cover all the corners! Sprinkle the entire pizza with shreddedmozzarella cheese... being sure to grab a handful or two for yourself! 😀  Then, simply pile on the pepperoni slices.

Bake your pizza for 12 - 14 minutes depending on how crispy you like your crust. You're looking for completely melted cheese and a crust that is lightly browned.

Remove from the oven and let cool a few minutes before cutting to allow the cheese to settle.
