While many use the terms interchangeably, the difference lies in the craft.
Marinara is typically a quick-cooking sauce, known for its bright, thin consistency and simple ingredients.
Jule’s Tomato Sauce is something more. Based on Pa Vitelli’s 1962 restaurant recipe, our sauce is simmered in small batches to develop a deep, complex flavor and a hearty, velvety texture. Unlike standard marinaras, Jule’s has the 'cooked-all-day' soul of a Sunday sauce—thick enough to coat a chicken parm but clean enough to eat by the spoonful. It’s the difference between a quick fix and a 40-year legacy.

Our products are made in Connecticut.
We believe in the 'Small-Batch' philosophy. A 16oz jar is the perfect amount for a family meal, ensuring the sauce is always fresh and never wasted. It reflects our commitment to premium quality—every ounce is packed with the 'outrageous' flavor Pa Vitelli intended.
All of our products have a two year shelf life. The best by date can be found imprinted at the top of each jar. Once open, our products remain fresh for 7-8 days as long as sealed and refrigerated.
If it's Jule's Tomato Sauce, it might not last that long because it is so good. That said, our jars of tomato sauce have a shelf life of two years.
Since we don't use artificial preservatives or 'filler' oils, we recommend refrigerating after opening and enjoying within 7–10 days. If you find yourself with just a little bit left, it’s perfect for a morning shakshuka or as a dipping sauce for crusty bread!
Yes, our Classic Vodka is made with cream.
All of our products are Gluten free. However, we are not certified Gluten Free.
At Jule’s, we only use ingredients that belong in a world-class kitchen. We never use vegetable or canola oils because they don't meet the standards of Pa Vitelli’s original 1962 recipe.
We craft our sauce in small batches using premium ingredients to achieve a truly homemade taste. Vegetable oils are often used as a cost-cutting measure in mass-produced sauces, but they can’t replicate the rich, authentic flavor profile of a 'red sauce institution' like Jule’s. By avoiding these processed oils and adding no sugar, we ensure every 16-ounce jar remains a clean, 'outrageous' tribute to the legacy of our Jersey City roots
Yes, our Dairy-Free Vodka sauce contains coconut.
No, however, all are produced in a facility that uses nuts, soy, eggs or wheat. The highest level of sanitation procedures are used on all production lines after any allergens such as nuts or soy are used.
At this time, none of our products are Kosher. They were perviously and hopefully will be again in the near future. We have updated our labels and removed the OU logo.
